There is no officially published proof-of-funds threshold for Hungary. The standard advice is to demonstrate tuition paid plus approximately €7,000/year for living costs plus health insurance and a return airfare.
Stipendium Hungaricum: Nigeria is eligible. The award covers full tuition, a monthly stipend, accommodation contribution and medical insurance. Applications close around 15 January each year. This is the most significant scholarship available to Nigerians for Hungary — confirm the nomination channel with the Nigerian sending authority, as the Federal Government suspended its overseas scholarship mechanisms in 2025.

Processing time for the D-visa via VFS Global (Lagos/Abuja) is approximately 6–8 weeks.
