Is Spain a good choice from Morocco?
Spain is the nearest EU system to Morocco and the one with the most Moroccan students in it: 5,151 in 2023/24, against 245 from Nigeria. That volume matters, because admissions offices, PCE preparation centres and consular staff all know the Moroccan file. Public bachelor’s tuition is €757–8,186 per year depending on region, and living costs run €700–1,200 per month.
Salamanca adds a further advantage: Moroccan Bac holders are exempt from the non-EU tuition surcharge under the Spain–Morocco agreement. The catch is that familiarity is not a shortcut — the Ministry still requires homologación, and no Spanish university exempts the Bac marocain from PCE exams. Entry with the Baccalauréat (Bac marocain)
The Ministry publishes a country equivalence sheet for the Moroccan Baccalauréat, which makes homologación to the título de Bachiller predictable rather than case by case. Next comes the UNEDasiss acreditación, which converts your Bac marks onto the Spanish scale. Carlos III accredits the Bac through UNEDasiss rather than homologating it, and the PCE exams are sat inside Morocco, so no exam trip is needed.
Pompeu Fabra is blunter: commercial PCE Marruecos preparation courses exist precisely because Spain grants Moroccan Bac holders no exemption. The University of Barcelona homologates the Bac routinely on long-standing practice, then asks for PAU or PCE. The student visa from Morocco
Morocco has a wide visa-centre network: BLS International runs centres in Casablanca, Rabat, Tanger, Tétouan, Nador and Agadir, so you apply near home. The nationally fixed Type D rate is €90; BLS collects the equivalent locally plus a non-refundable service charge, and its published amount differs from the Casablanca consulate’s, so confirm the figure at the centre.
Processing takes up to one month from a complete file, which makes completeness the whole game. Add university admin charges of €28–140, living costs of €700–1,200 per month, insurance at €480–840 per year, the TIE card at €16.08 and the stay authorisation at €10.94.

- Morocco’s agency market has a documented fraud problem, with convicted operators and forged Schengen bank documents in 2026 cases.
- Spain publishes no student-visa refusal rate; only short-stay Schengen figures exist, varying widely by consulate.
