Study Abroad Consultants in Zambia

What we do for Zambian students

The two things that catch Zambian applicants out

1. Where you apply from. Only three of our seven destinations accept applications inside Zambia: Germany (Embassy, Lusaka), the UK (VFS Global, Lusaka) and Ireland (Embassy, Lusaka — and Zambian nationals are fee-exempt for the Irish visa). Malta, Cyprus, Hungary and Poland are all handled through Pretoria or Johannesburg, so budget the travel and time into your plan from the start.

2. Kwacha volatility. The kwacha is freely floating and copper-linked, with large swings. Missions scrutinise sponsor capacity and source of funds closely, partly because stable hard-currency balances are harder to evidence from Zambia. Quote the Bank of Zambia daily rate, not a figure you read last month — see our exchange rates reference.

APS is not required. Germany’s APS certificate applies only to China, Vietnam and India. Your qualifications go through uni-assist instead.

Scholarships open to Zambians — and one that is not

Zambia’s HELSB funds study mainly at Zambian institutions, so the realistic plan is self-funding plus one competitive international award. Zambia is a Commonwealth member, which helps:

• Chevening (UK) — fully funded one-year master’s; Zambia has a dedicated country page.
• Commonwealth Scholarships (UK) — master’s and PhD awards.
• DAAD (Germany) — postgraduate study and research.
• Erasmus Mundus (EU-wide) — open to all African countries, no quota.

Stipendium Hungaricum is not open to Zambia — Zambia is not on its partner-country list. Poland’s NAWA/Banach is not a Zambia route either. Any consultant offering you either is either uninformed or lying; both are reasons to walk away. Full detail on the scholarships for Zambian students page.

How to check any consultant — including us

• Ask for a refusal rate, not a success rate. “98% success” and “guaranteed visa” are marketing, not statistics.
• Never pay a fee to apply for a genuine scholarship. Chevening, Commonwealth, DAAD and Erasmus Mundus are all free to apply for.
• Never submit a document you cannot verify. German and Polish missions specifically warn against agents who supply forged financial evidence — it can get you banned for years.
• Check they are traceable — a registered business, a real address, named advisors rather than an anonymous WhatsApp account.
